still not good enough.. youll need at least power compact lighting to keep an anemone and that is on the weaker side(or multiple NO bulbs).. what size tank do you have?? and by the way that new bulb is no better than the first.. what type of anemone is it??

If it's still a 15w t8 you need a lot more, but you can use it with what ever you get

In terms of lighting:
VHO or PC's = Minimum T5's = better MH = excelent MH + PC actinics supplements = Perfect

Yes you are right.

hmmm....I guess this would be a good place to ask this, is a Compact Fluorescent the same as a power compact? I just ordered a Satellite Compact Fluorescent fixture for a 20 gal that I'm putting a Perc in. It is a 65 watt. Is this going to be enough that I could get an anemone in the future?

It's border line wattage for a BTA - if it is sitting high up in the tank. (the bulb will also need to probably be a 50/50 daylight/actininc) Pls remeber that lighting is only one of many factors contributing to an anemone's success. You also need to consider water movement, water chemistry, other tank inhabitants, good husbandry, and a safe enviorment for anemones that may wonder into powerheads and over floows if they are not content with their initial placment. All in all, wait at least 6 month before getting any anemone. Clowns will do well without it and some may never even host in it. PERC's do not usually host in BTA's or LTA's in the wild and they may never do in captivity.

FWIW I don't believe that 65w is adequate for an anemone in a 20gal tank.

65 watts is definitely on the small side.
