A few ?s for my G. Smithii

Thumper, my G. Smithii is currently housed in a 2gallon explorer. I am planning on buying a 24gallon aquapod to upgrade my daughters 6gallon nanocube seahorse tank. I figure the nanocube6 will be ok for thumper's new home. questions- to the caretakers of other G. Smithii's, any preferred foods? Thumper didn't seem to like the taste of peppermint shrimp. Are there any crustations or mullosks that they absolutly love? what about clams & muscles? perriwinkle snails? Or is this a hit & miss deal depending on the individual? @ $10 a pop emerald crabs seem a little pricey. feeder shrimp don't come in that offten so I have not been able to try them yet. opinions & advice welcome. thanx

My G. smithii eventually takes astraea snails and hermit crabs. It took out all the nassarius snails in the tank the first week I got it (as far as I knew, mantis shrimp generally didn't like these particular snails - haha). Mine also seems to like frozen krill quite a bit. That's about all the foods I've offered it.

I'm pretty sure it's an individual deal depending on your mantis.
