Question Blenny not eating

I picked up a Bicolor Blenny about a week ago and he isn't eating at all. He swims all over the place and when food is feed he swims out and grabs it and spits it out. I have wondered if the food size was too big or not of the liking and have tried a few different foods and no change (Plankton, Mysis, Brine, Marine Cusine, Prime Reef flake, Brine Shrimp plus flake and small pellet).

Any ideas on what I can do to get the guy to eat. I would hate to loose him and am getting a bit worried.

Funny you say that, I picked up a bi-color last night, and he doesnt appear to be eating either... Like you said, he's all over and very active... but he hasnt ate prime reef flake or formula 2 flake when all my other tank mates go crazy...

Is this normal ?

Try cyclopeeze. That excites a lot of fish.

How long have you had the fish? Mine often seem to take some time to get accustomed to a new diet. I agree that Cyclo-Peeze is a great food, though. Some mysid shrimp might help, too.

True...a little over half a week for a fish that HAD a normal diet before re-aclimation is not abnormal in my opinion. So long as your water params are sat, the fish will eat when he's ready....otherwise, there'd be nothing to keep him from eating.

My bicolor did the same thing for several weeks. Swim out, grab a piece of food then spit it out. It did pick at some hair algae in the tank and appeared to be grabbing pods off the LR. It eventually started eating Formula 2 flake. They are listed as an herbivore but after over 2 years in the tank, it now eats mostly flake and an occasional mysis.

Mysid and mysis are interchangeable terms, for hobbyist use. Mysis is a genus, mysid is just an adjective.

Thank you for the explanation. Now the next question is how do you pronounce it?

Well, in classical Latin, "y" is pronounced somewhat like the word "you". I pronounce "mysid" with the "y" sound like a long "i".
