What are these worms??
I am converting a FO with LR tank to a reef tank. The FO system has been setup and running for about 6 years. I have had very good luck with the system and am adding enhancements in equipment for the reef conversion (eight T5 lighting, ETSS Reef Devil Deluxe).
Question please: I have hundreds of hair thin worms(?) in the sand bed and on the live rock. They come from individual calcium tubes and are transparent. They are about the diameter of a human hair and can extend to about 3" out of the tubes. What are they?? Will they cause any harm to the corals and clams, etc... The snails, hermits, conchs, and fish do not seem to be bothered by them. I believe my scooter my be eating them. Anyone know what they are?? Kind Thanks |

They're harmless. They help break down larger waste, and are ultimately good for your tank.
