what does a stripe tell you about a clown?

Ive been really curous about this. and I havent found anything that says why or why not. so im hoping someone else knows.

why do I see many maroon clowns look like this

but then every so often ill see ones like this

where the whole body shape is slightly different and the middle stripe looks like it was crossed with a percula or somthing?

are maroons from different regions? or maybe it is a cross?

tia

Different geographic location. Yellow stripe Maroon is from Sumatra, 3rd largest island of the Indonesian Islands. Maroon with white stripes is from the Coral Sea, Northeastern portion of Australia.

I had a maroon clown for about ten years that no stripes at all other than a single gold band on her forehead that was shaped like a gold/yellow bandaid.

She started in an old fashioned 30g undergravel tank, but "ended" in a 75g reef tank for a few years.

Anyone ever see gold stripe maroons with varied or unique striping?

Maroons are know for having large variations in patterns, in fact the maroons are much more likely to have odd patterns then any other clown.

Age, Size, location, yellow vs white stripe, etc. many things are taken into account. Kind of like asking why do I have blonde hair?
