What the ?? ID this creature on my Acro please!

Attached to a frag, anyone one have a guess? The little fuzzy things sticking off, not the polyps. Almost look like the hydroid jellyfish I had when I first got my live rock a 5 years back, but these are tree like?? And yes I know about the red bugs, that battle starts next week

They look like hydroids to me. What makes you think they're not?

Hey Bob, I wasn't sure either way I assumed(I know!!) hydroid's would not attach to a living organism...I asked Dr Shimek after I didn't get any confident answers here and he confirmed the ID as hydroids. With all the pests that get passed from reef to reef through trading I get a little paranoid I guess

I think hydroids as well.
Never seen them settle on a coral, though.
I don't think they last very long at that stage. I've seen them on live rock before and they were gone within a few weeks.

Oops...too slow!

I just got a coral with those also, seems to be doing fine with them heh, haven't seen any sign of them spreading. Let's hope they aren't a new pest.

I'll add my "yeah' for Hydroids as well and yes, I got one colony that has them. I just left it as is and were told not worry overly about them. There isn't much could be done about them at this point, really.

Na Rich, your right...can't see them on that pic. One of the picture's I had taken of the hydroids on this coral, focused on the stag behind it instead...and that one is loaded with em! Sorry, I thought I uploaded that pic also, guess not.
