Laptop Hard Drives

So I'm new to workin on laptops, and I'm pretty sure that the computer I have has no warranty, so here we go!

It's looking like my hard drive is bad, so I'm gonna replace it. How many different configurations are there for laptop hard drives? With PC's, pretty much any hard drive fits any comp. Is this the case with laptop PC's too?

It looks pretty cut and dry to replace the hard drive. Just unscrew two screws and it comes right out.
