good pair of sharp scissors will do ya just fine and dandy... cut around what you want and then file the sharp edges off.

Jokes aside, I use something called "diagonal cutters". Pretty much wire cutters.

This may stupid but I use a paint stirrer. I just come down in an axe like manner and slice through very clean.

Or when you need small pieces a hand grenade will work!!

Ultra small pieces a particle beam splitter is great. It just take a lot of time and money to build one or rent one!

LOL, When I first clicked I was thinking. "what kind of stupid aregument took place that there was a 40 post thread on cutting eggcrate?"

Mostly I use the table saw, but when the power is out...

I agree with the needlenose pliers. Just pick a row to cut down, and start snapping each little connection off with the pliers. Only downside, is that you need to go back and clean up the leftover burrs.

I'd think that a bandsaw would be the best too for this job, actually.
