Is there a point you can have too much water and too little air
Yep, it will let more water bypass the bubbles and won't be as efficient.

Too little water and too much air?
Yep, you'll lose bubbles out the drain of the skimmer or if you open the air valve too much, you get bigger bubbles and not shaving cream.

What you want is solid white foam.

Here's a old one with the sand bed.

Why did you take out all that beautiful sand?

Jeez, your tank looked great with sand in it. How long after that pic did you take it all out?

Because that sand tried to kill all my corals.

To take that picture, I scrubbed rocks for two days with a tooth brush. Then we took that picture for RC TOTM, and two days later the algae was coming back.

I was kidding about that sand BTW...
I didn't know you were TOTM before. What issue was it in? I'd like to check it out.

Sand or not, your tank was beautiful. You fought that stupid algae for 3 more years after that before ripping the sand out? I don't think I could have put up with it that long. I probably would have given up and went FO.

Any problems with the angel's or butterflies nipping? My favorite angel's are queen, french, and grey's. I'd love to add my grey to my reef down the road.

I don't generally trust anyone who claims to be a "DJ" as a rule.

(BTW, anyone know where he went?)
I bought mine at Guitar Center a year ago, and again a week ago. You can find them on Ebay as well.

I feel so decieved!

You know, that really says a lot, because all the other poor newbies come on here and see all the beautiful tanks thinking its somehow possible to achieve what others have apparently done, and think that their tank is supposed to look like that all the time.

Man, this hobby is worse than Hollywood...

Ah, a Nikonos man. I just bought one of those waterproof bags for my FM3a and got some pretty good pics in Hawaii.

Its right out of Conan:

"Bomber....secrets..."

"When I got TOTM, I scrubbed all the rocks for two days to get all the algae off before they took the pictures..."

Well it's true. LOL you should see some of the other things that go on, like completely changing the sand bed before taking pictures.

The problem is, I let those clowns talk me into selling my Nikonos, frames, brackets, strobes, everything - to buy the camera "they" wanted.

So really, the only reason we see your tank occasionally is because you clean up your toxic soup of a tank the day before. So this whole Bare-Bottom thing is a farce. I knew it.
