Red Sea Air Dryer? (Not Air Tight?)

Does anyone else have problems with their Air Dryer not being air tight?

I agree that they are probably not air tight. I have a 250 and a 500 that I run in series on a venturi skimmer. If I cover the intake at the furtherest point where the air first goes into the dryers I still have a little bit of air getting to the venturi. It is not much air but it does prove that they are not totally air tight.

IMO it is a bad setup trying to use the "push-on" caps with an o-ring in which you also run the risk of the cap popping off and the beads going everywhere... not to mention possible air leaks.

I think It would have been better to have had a screw on cap with an o-ring to make sure that the cap seats tight without the risk of air leaks or risking the possibilty of the cap popping off.

I just try to make sure to seat the o-ring as straight as possible and that the end with the push-on o-ring lid is the end where the air first enters the dryer.
