going to take more then just one 400w MH to cover the tank that is for sure. It all depends on what you are wanting to keep. I think that you might beable to get a 3X250w HQI setup and cover the tank nicely. HTH

Check out Hellolights and aquariumlights.com from the sponsors page. They both have great prices and proven equipment. That E-bay system is kinda a pig in a poke. It MIGHT be just fine, on the other hand.....

I have a question about lights. I have a 150 gal tank that is 72x30x18. I bought 3 400w MH with 14k bulbs, pretty much like the setup shown in this post. Is that going to be to much light?

depends on what you want to keep if mushrooms is all then yes. But if you want a SPS dominated tank then probably not. If you wan lower light corals make caves and hide the corals from the light as much as possible. HTH

Not only does it depend on what you want to raise but the equipment as well. How high the lamps mounted above the water, the quality of the lamps ballasts and reflectors all play a big part in the equasion. A 14K Hichisakawapouki lamp manufactured in outter Progishimanalahu Just might have a lower light output than a 14K Aquaconnect lamp.

Try Sanjay's site and compare lamps to see the difference in different lamps and ballasts http://www.reeflightinginfo.arvixe.com/

It comes with new 20K bulbs. But the supplier did say that it is an "m59 ballast with a universal burning bulb"

I do want to thank everyone for replying i appreciate it!!!
