Highly aggressive trigger?
Hey all, on my last thread I was asking about good solitary triggers, now I want to know in your opinion, what would you guys say would be the most outright aggressive trigger that still maintains a manageable size in an aquarium? I know Titan would probably be the worst, but unfortunately it's size is a limiting factor. So I'm interested in keeping just a single trigger, but I would prefer to be highly aggressive. Any thoughts on the matter...

Clown trigger. managable and aggressive. if you want something really cool and really aggressive i would say a queen trigger. i would suggest a 200g but a 250g would be better.

You can do an undulate in a 75... others... think you would need a 180. Blueline.. clown...

Undulate! If you want aggression....these little guys will deliver. I watched one shred a bunch of chromis that a buddy had in his tank. He thought that the chromis would be too quick for the little guy, BUT he was wrong. That little fish was relentless and in my opinion just killed everything off so he could have the tank to himself. He is a beautifully colored fish as well. Very vibrant orange stripes. My friend was a little upset in the beginning that he decimated his other stock (only 3 chromis).... but due to the fishes pet like personality he is very happy to leave him solo in his 75. LFS told me that these guys are a real handful as well.

Yeah, my undulate is crazy, but pretty skittish considering I've had her for over a year now.... (just found out its a female) supposedly the males are more aggresive, which I find astounding because she is the most vicious little fish I have ever encountered. She can hold her own against a gymnothorax eel 5 times her size that gets excited during feeding time!...

Undulate,a real psycho hiding in the shadow of aquarium; if female a real sand digger and construction maniac........No other comment ;that's enough to define this beautiful, cheap and sociopathic fish...........

The undulate is the most aggressive.
Titans, queens, bluelines, clowns are less aggressive, but more destructive because they're so much bigger, so when they are aggressive, there's no question about it. Dave

They are difficult to keep with much of anything most of the time.

Undulated Trigger is by far the most aggressive trigger and is perfect for you since you wanted one for a moderate sized tank. A 75 for a single undulate would be ok. By the way, make sure your heater is "unbreakable."

Please keep the opinions and experiences coming! I am planning the same thing. I have a 135G, and was hoping to get away with a CT, and a Dogface or Spotted puffer. I have a large LR island in the middle hoping that will help too. Opinions?

Killer, was my reply considered a "hijack"? If so, that wasn't my intention, I just wanted to keep this thread going and get some comments.

I've had a queen, undulated, clown, and a Titan. I'd probably say the queen was the most agressive/curious. She'd bite anything that entered the tank...tongs, siphon tube, hands.
The undulated was a close second, and to be honest she lived with alot of fish that were much larger than she. And had no fear. I really miss her. She was my first trigger. The clown never got really got aggressive with other fish, but was very curious about anything entering the tank, or should I say bite anything that entered the tank. I still have the juvenille Titan. Can't get a read on him yet. He's small and shows no fear of anything (no matter how much bigger than him) but he hasn't shown any other agressiveness. By the way, a way to see how crazy a trigger can get...hold up a mirror to the tank and see how they react. It can be a good show. Another fun thing to do (if you are cruel like me) is to throw a small lobster/crayfish in with a trigger. Good Times!

What size do Titans get in tanks? Ive seen full grown ones when diving and didnt imagine they would be kept in aquariums! Was just glad it wasnt guarding a nest, Ive heard stories of them inflicting nasty bites on unlucky divers

My blue line isn't mean at all, and he's about 7" I have him
in a 160g with a 5"QUEEN Angle and a 5" niger trigger. And I haven't had any problems. But he did eat all of my cleaning crew. But he hasn't touched my cleaner shrimp |

"Sulphur Head Moray" or so they said at the LFS, its definately a gymnothorax eel, about ~22 inches, WILL EAT ANYTHING. (Except a female undulate trigger, although he has tried on several occasions....)
