Looking for a college in cali..........

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a college that perhaps some of you go to or went to or have heard of that you can recommend to me. I'm looking to major in a marine bio/bio or other type of field. Perhaps is close to an airport or not to far but also could find an apartment close by in town. If you have any idea...just throw them at me in here. Thank in advance....Going to try and get in by Jan. so I really have to get on the move with this. Thanks again.

i dont know of what is offered in cali, many of the colleges in florida offer marine bio programs. Aswell as there is a school in wisconson where you studay there for 2 years then goto hawaii for the remainder. Unfortunately i cant remember the name of the school.

Also, just some thought. I was/am planning on a marine bio major, but after some research i found that the majority of the scientists working in marine biology do NOT have marine bio majors. More in the fields of ocienography, other biology like microbiology, zoology and what not. My sister is in grad school for zoology, and shes done some looing into marine bio and many other animal related fields, it is very difficult to get a job in the area, especially if you have anything under a masters. If you want to attempt to do your own research i would recomend a phd.

If you find schools in cali i would be interested as well, im debating where to goto school once i finish my ***. Im probably getting an *** in wildlife biology at a local community college.

HTH

Take a look at this article, i used it to base my statements off of. You also might want to talk to Bomber on the forums here, he lives in florida, but he works for NOAA(i think??) and he has a phd marine biology and phd marine pathology according to his member info.

I noticed that also. About not actually having the Marine Bio Degree. Here are two I found in CA. Checking them out and still looking for others.
