My Tank @ 8 Months

Let me know what you think. Its been 8 months since I upgraded my system to a larger basement sump, added massive flow, went 250DE and took out the DSB to go BB.

These were some of the best things that I have done to my system.

The pics may not be the best cause I am not very good at taking pictures like some of you other guys!!! The corals that look bleached are actually light blue.

Thanks for looking.

You're semi bleaching your SPS. DE 10k AB's are very bright especially in a 75gal. You should shorten the photoperiod and/or add some fish and feed them

I'm using Aquamedic OL's with their HQI ballast and AB10K's and 2 VHO 03 for supplementation. I didn't like it at first cause it was so bright and overpowering but I think its growing on me. I will be trying the new Ushio/BLV 15K DE when they come out next month.

I am doing that, I was at 10 hours now I am down to 8. I am thinking of bringing it down to 6 next month, but that means that my tank will just be lit with the 03's. Currently I have Hippo, 2-GSM, CB, 6 line wrasse, and a pyschadelic goby in the tank which I feed daily. I don't know why some of my corals look washed out. In the second pic next to the tricolor is my cali tort. Did you see it? It is barely even blue. My Becker is baby blue. Its like I'm using Zeo or something.

The growth on these bulbs is incredible! I swear I don't see that much difference when I was using SE Iwasaki's. Plus the color is much better than that of the Saki's. I did see almost as good growth when I ran SE XM10K's and 3 VHO 03's and 1 VHO 50/50. That was awesome but the quality of the XM's left something to be desired.

Now if I could only get rid of that Xenia and zoanthids.................
