Super glue gel alternative?

Someone once told me that there's some glue at Hobby Town that's the same as super glue gel. Any ideas as to what that is?

Cyano-Acrylate...4oz is like $9 Or it's 8 oz for $9 I can't remember. Get the one with the red label, it's behind the counter.

Its a 2 oz. bottle for $9. Ask for the extra thick glue. They also carry Zap Gel for about $7 for the lg. tube.

Well, I must say that I wish that I got the Zap Gel. This stuff is just not easy to work with. It's also a pain just to get it out of the bottle. I'm going to pick up some of the gel and give that a try.

Small rocks to bigger rocks underwater. With super glue gel by Lok-tite it's not too hard. This stuff is a bit too fluid. Works great when I can get the pieces out of water. That is, when I can actually get the glue out of the tube.

OH good lord...Yeah that stuff from the hobby store is allergic to water LOL

I'm surpirised you didn't end up coating your hands with it, which is always fun. What I always had to do was wait for the glue to dry for a bit and then stick it in the water. Although I never foudn the that Loctite Gel held that long either, rock to rock. I always used the puddy for that.

I thought we were glueing frags out of the water.

If the tube is stopped up, get a paper clip to clean it out.

My hands were nicely coated with glue. It was fun...not. What kind of puddy do you use?

They sold it at Tideline. It's a Green and Gray 2 part stuff that comes in a 3/4 tube. You cugt off what you need, mix it in your hands and tada, instant cement, well after a few hours.

Wet your fingers first, helps with the neading of the puddy. They should know what your talking about at Tideline.

Its a 2 part epoxy that you want to cement rockwork together. I also assumed that you were gluing frags.

Aquamend from home depot is a reefsafe two-part epoxy and costs less than three dollars.

Yes, I'm gluing frags. Wish I had some last night. I positioned a frag just to see how it would look and it tumbled behind the rockwork. Sucked!

Bummer LOL

If it's a frag already on a rock or an SPS, I'd recommend using that Aquamed/2 Part Epoxy or getting the Stuff from Tideline I was telling you about.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. The aquamend worked great. I also put together some cool zoo frag rocks using the cyano-whozitwhatzit. Now I just need to build my fuge.
