Midwest Regional Frag Swap!!!

Date: October 22nd
Location: The Underground, Cincinnati, OH - www.theug.com

For those who attended the spring swap in Cincinnati, get ready for a swap that will dwarf the last one! Hosted by Cincinnati Reefkeepers Society, co-hosted by INDMAS, LMAS, and Dayton Reef, this swap will have almost twice the vendors and twice the turnout. Promoting members bring stuff to swap alot more. More details to follow but this is going to be huge. Mark your calendars!

Why so close to the Columbus one? Your last one was on the same weekend as the C-sea one. Any reason behind the close dates?

Yeah the best time to have swaps are spring and fall. If you look around the country just about all of the events like these are held on these dates. And they're 3 weeks apart. We have vendors coming to ours that are coming to the columbus one. I know I'm attending both

Would anyone that is definitely coming to the swap from C-Sea please let me know. We're doing a frag swap t-shirt and are listing all of the attending clubs and sponsors on the back. If C-Sea members are going to be present I want to make sure they are represented. I don't want anyone left out.

Actually, look closely at the above posts. They are from 2005, including the list of raffle donations! Not sure why they bumped a two year old thread to advertise the upcoming swap . . .

Better re-read. The thread dates are 2005. I am confused as to why they wouldn't start a NEW post. Even the dates are different. One says the 22nd, on the 20th. I haven't checked the Cinci Reef forum yet, but I'll probably clarify.

Hi All,

The date must be Oct. 20, look at the dates on the replys. You will save about 2 hrs. & several miles by going to the Columbus swap. Oh, and don't bring anymore than 14 items LOL.

You wouldn't think they would have a frag swap so close in time to another swap... that doesn't make any sense. I could see having it in November or so....

Yeah the cinci club doesn't seem to want to get aboard with the rest of the ohio swaps, I think they feel there far enough away to not group with Columbus and Cleveland.

In 2006 they had the same issue. The Cinci club "mouth piece" at the time said that they ran a poll and Oct. was the time the members wanted to have it.

I wll say that they do draw from Louisville, Indy, Dayton, Lexington. So they do have a market that Cora, or C-Sea doesn't capture. But, it does stink for CORA & C-SEA members. You can only go to so many. Plus, with MACNA so close this year, another road trip is out of the question.

I did check out their site last nite. There doesn't appear to be allot of vendors listed as attending. Hopefully they'll have allot of FRAGS though, for those that do attend.
