Stopping Email notifications

How do I stop getting the email notifications of replies to threads I have participated in or subscribed to? I have tried changing this on my profile many times but I still get the emails. Thanks in advance for the help.

Don't subscribe to them.

Go to "My RC" and unsubscribe to them. You can also go into your options and turn off subscripting as your default.

So there is no way for me to subscribe to threads and NOT get email notification to my email account?

At the bottom of each email there is a link to unsuscribe. Just copy & paste and you are immediately unsuscribed.

get a hotmail account and direct the mail to it. I am guessing you want to use the online subscription feature but no email with it?

Wow, I didn't think this would be so complicated. I know how to unsubscribe to threads, that's not the problem. I realize that when I subscribe to threads, when I hit the "My RC" button, it lists all the threads I subscribed to. That is fine, that is what I want. What I don't want is to get an email notification everytime someone posts a reply to the threads I subscribed to. Is that even possible? Thanks for the help.

Using this option emails you whenever someone replies to a thread that you have participated in. yes no

Unfortuantly no, there is no way to be subscribed to a thread and not get e-mails.

Watch Beerguy will come out with some kind of really simple secret solution

If all you want to do is check on replies to a post from time to time just copy and paste the web site address in your favorites folder and unsuscribe from the post.

You can turn off emails but it turns them off completely for the site.

So you can turn off: "Allow Bulletin Board Administrators and Moderators To Send You Email Notices?" and subscribe to threads and not get email. That will also turn off emails for PMs.

Please tell me the next version will allow thread subscription w/o email notifications. Right now I have to send my thread notifications to a black hole, but along with goes all other RC email.

Yes. VB3 has several options, one of them is no email at all.

Is that upgrade planned? Scheduled? What was the recent upgrade about?

Right now, the tentative (emphasis on that word) schedule is the 4th of July weekend. The previous upgrade was adding some hardware, this is a software upgrade and conversion. This version of VB has been so heavily modified that it's quite a chore.

Most email programs have a filtering feature you can use...

I created the following rule in my yahoo.com account:

If...

From contains "Reef Central Online Community Mailer"
Subject begins with "Reply to post"

Then...

Move message to Trash folder


This at least keeps the messages out of your inbox... I do the same thing with my boss'es emails LOL...
