Help Sick Clown!

One of my clowns last white stripe on his tail has turned dark in color. This happened once before, except it was spreading to his whole body, and I treated with Kanacyn, it went away. Now it is back again, kanacyn is not available so I treated with Kanaplex, but it is doing nothing for him. I have so far given him 6 treatments (in my QT tank) over a 14 day period and his tail is still dark. I have his mate with him because they freak when separated. They are not acting sick at all, are eating like pigs, and are very active, but I will not put them back into the display tank without knowing exactly what is going on with him. Any ideas????????? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried that, there is not kanacyn available anymore! The company went out of business, or at least stopped making the Kanacyn, I called every pet store within 2 hours of here, ordered it online from several places, just to have them call me and tell me it is no longer in stock. The Kanaplex is suppose to have the same medication in it the Kanacyn did but it is not helping! I can't find anything online to tell me what my fish has.

I really want him to go back to the main tank, but am scared it is some sort of disease that will harm all of my healthy fish, so I really need to know what it is first.

Thanks for your replies!

From what i am learning I think that may be the case, and I have been putting my fish through the torture of the Q-tank for months for no reason . I added them back to the display tank last night and they are loving it.

Thanks for everyones help!

I will just keep a close eye on them to make sure it doesn't get worse!
