What's your stinkiest acro?

I'm with Kev...I like that ocean smell and my whole house has that nice smell of low tide on tank cleaning day. No acro can have the smell of dead xenia or snail.....wow

I can't notice the smell of my sps over my Xenia. I welcome SPS to stink if it is less gross than xenia.

Only one I can smell is my slimer.

Not exaclty on topic, but I know something that beats dead anemone. I used to maintain a really large stingray system in grad school. I had to scoop out a dead ray that succumbed to injuries it sustained. Nothing smells worse than that..nothing. The smell will make you projectile vomit and then pass out on the spot. Makes dead snail smell like incense.

None of my acros are too bad, but my green slimer is probably the strongest smelling of the bunch.

I don't my sps smell that bad. Course spending a day tearing out the ole' crushed coral sand bed was pretty disgusting.

Bad smell: Cleaning out dead urchin and starfish will make you puke a plenty (back in the day of high school - helping out a marine biology teacher).

I don't think I have any one acro that is the "smelliest". They all smell, some more than others. The worst smell I ever encountered was when my 75 gallon fully stocked sps tank crashed last year. It literally stunk up the entire 2nd level of my apartment building for close to a week.

Id have to say that a dead abolone was way worse than any smell Ive ever encountered in my tank. But my nostrils have been desensitized by working at a pet shop that sells puppies... now smells that come out of the back room there can not be topped!

i just had all my corals shipped to me from dallas and I lost 80% due to mishandling of the boxes,, my entire apartment smelled of acropora death for 3 days,, and I mean it REEKED in here

Acro stink isn't that bad, but I need to wash my hands 72 times with acid, bleach, and ammonia afterwards. I ordered some coralife gloves today, because I ignored the note to self:

Do not move acros before eating a sandwich.

shred5, I agree 100% with you on that one. I can't believe I almost forgot how stinky a clam is when it dies. Man that is one intense smell. And talk about impossible to wash the smell off of your hands!

Havnt noticed any smells from acros, but my yellow leather has a funk to it. I can wash my hands five times and it still lingers.

I dont know what it smells like its just NASTY!
