North of the City you have three great ones.....Reef and Fin in Stamford, CT (1.25 hours north), House of Fins in Greenwich, CT (1 hour north) and NY Aquarium in Mamaroneck, NY (about 50' north of the City). Sal @ NYA is a great guy, very willing to hook you up and give you even better deals once you establish yourself as a customer. HOF and NYA are within walking distance of Metro North if you dont have a car. I have only seen a couple of the shops in Manhattan and nothing like the three I have listed.

Jawz on Rt 119 (East Main Street) in Emsford NY is great too. Lou has been very good to me over the years.

new world aquarium on 38th street. note - they are located in manhattan in a store that is small - even for manhattan standards.

That said, I found their selection to be great - but with manhattan prices.

I've also read favorable reviews of fishtown on northern boulevard in flushing queens.

Nancy - you have pm. Sorry I wasn't able to get back to you today.

If you are going up to CT. Westport Aquarium is not much further than R&F. They have good stuff.
