Well, I might be taking longer than I had originally thought. I really do not think a 20L will make me happy in the long run. So I have a guy getting me a price on a drilled 58g oceanic. 58's have been one of my favorite tanks for a long time and now is as good of a time as any to get one. Once he calls me back and I find out if the person interested in my light still wants it, I will be waiting for a few weeks.

If I do go with the 58 I will have some stuff for sale.

SCWD
Black pine stand for 20L & 29g
10g sump with baffles
and some other stuff.

What are the dimensions of the 58?

Hmmm, well i'm going to set mine up regardless. I'll set it up on my back patio for a week or so running. That way if it does break, i'll be ok.

Good idea!

Ryan... It's 36x18x20 (I think that is the right height). Dude, I don't know what to do!

LOL

me too, we'll see what happens.
i really would rather have a 30g cube for alittle more front to back space but since i already have the stand and everything i'm gonna stick with the 29g

Thats exactly the reason i'm sticking with my 29 for now. I really like the 30g or 37g cubes. Great for aquascaping.

Do you think it was the weight from the overflow or the pressure from the water in the tank? I just cut my 29 today and don't want this to happen to me.

Just pressure from the tank, there are no signs to indicate issues with the weight of the overflow.

Sorry if I missed it in the thread, but how thick was the black acrylic that you glued to the back glass?

No. The acrylic actually helped the back from completely blowing out but I still think that most of the pressure is still on the back glass because of the way it fit.

What do you mean the way it fit?

Well because it was only silicone to the back glass, not the sides, so the water pressure was still on the back glass. The acrylic just prevented it from blowing out.

Good point. So maybe 1/2" acrylic glued to the sides would be best for this project
