Anyone got a Radio Shack True RMS Digital Multimeter (22-174B)

I can't find my manual and I think mine is not working correctly.

No longer for this model. It really ****es me off too; it's less than two years old. I wish I could justify a Fluke, but I'll probably (grudgingly) buy another RS model.

That's weird, I thought they had all manuals new and old online... What's wrong with it? Get a Fluke. If it's too much $, get a cheap no brander so you wouldn't feel bad when it breaks. RS stuff is cheap stuff with a high price tag... took me a while to figure that out.

Well, I need one ASAP and don't even know where to find a Fluke locally. RS multimeters are peanut$ compared to a Fluke. Last night I swore I wouldn't ever again, but I bit my lip hard and just bought another RS model, the 22-812. It got some favorable feedback in a Ham Radio forum.

An I DL'ed the manuals before I bought it.

I recently got a Greenline brand multi-meter that I've been fairly happy w/. Wasn't priced too bad (under 100), and was feature compatible w/ most of the Fluke's my electrician friends were recommending. I've been happy w/ the unit, I'd buy that brand again. I just needed a general purpose Multi-meter however, dunno if that will meet your needs (but I can recommend the brand).

Thanks Mac, but I already bought th RS 22-812. Looks like it was not a stupid operator problem after all. Comparing reading for DC and AC voltage (the easiest of tests that I knew I was doing right), the new model shows 1.289 for a recharged 1.2v energizer; the old unit starts at -234 and counts up towards zero (with the lead polarity correct). On AC, the new reads 121.2 in an outlet; the old reads 3. Both are in Auto range mode. I guess the old didn't survive the move.
