Brandon Update

Hello everyone,

I have just recently gotten a few emails from Brandon's family with an update. They were also kind enough to send pictures of our boy too.

He was in Singapore. His comments were this was the cleanest place he has ever been too. They even outlawed gum as it was causing some trash.

On a side note, he was walking with a group past a bar and he saw a 100' long aquarium. Fortunately he took some pictures and hopefully we will be able to see them when he gets back. Also, he was able to play some Halo. So he was rather excited that two things he enjoys doing he was able to participate.

Personally, I was excited to see that he was able to acquire a meal for $1.50. Amazing. He is apparently falling in love with Asian food. IMO that is a huge positive for the trip. :-)

He is currently or at least was in Bangkok before he ships out of there. He is learning a lot and helping many people and in turn learning and being helped as well.

For those that are new or do not know, Brandon left this fall for Asia with a ministry group called YWAM. He is scheduled to return sometime late next month. I know he commented on one email he saw the dreaded crown of thorns starfish. It will be good to get a report when he gets back.

A great opportunity. John, can I email you some pictures so you can get them posted here? I seem to have problems when I try and link them to the RMRC hosting. All I get is an X. Can you explain the error of my ways?

Kip, thanks for the update. I'm glad to hear he is still doing well and will be back soon. If he takes enough pics we should have him do a slideshow at one of the club meetings and tell us of his adventures.

Hey team! I am currently in a city called Rayong in Thailand, I will be here until the 16th where we leave for Calcutta.

John, I played Halo 2! I was so excited, I only got to play for like 5 minutes but I loved every second. Since then I have not touched or seen a TV lol.

Thailand is very different, we have been visiting Slums and doing things like that.

I indeed love the food here. The other night I had Squid, shrimp, and chicken with Vegees on rice for like $1.50 with a drink! It was awesome.

I continue to miss the boards and the meetings, good to see you are all reefin away. I think I see Joe has yet another addition to the Family!

I donno when I will be able to get back online but I am doing very well!

An update here.

Brandon is ok, he is in Calcutta and was not affected by the earthquake and subsequent tsunami.

That is great news for him, but still heartbreaking for many many thousands of people.

Those are some beautiful pictures and as I read about his adventure and where he was, I also wondered if he was ok. Glad he is and yes, a deep sadness for those lives that were lost. Prayers for their families.

I have been doing some work the past few nights, ok ok goofing off on Reef Central.............

Regardless, I hit the refresh button on yahoo and just watched the counts go up. Made my stomach sick to see it. I did look to see if some fellow reefers, specifically Eljefe3 who has a magnificent tank in Thailand were ok. The ones I knew were fine.

Also checked with my main supplier PhishyBusiness to ask about his folks and they seemed ok too since they were protected by Sumatra.

Yeah I was relieved on Brandon too Joe.
