I thought of another componant for my ENHANCED baseball idea...

The losing team has to do a Fear-Factor type stunt based on how badly they lose - if they lose by , oh lets say 7 runs, the whole team has to eat that amount of pig snouts, or those huge hissing cockroaches...

not in my book.
They changed the rule book to make it easier to earn a save and I think it's lame! I remember when relief pitchers used to go 3 innings for a save and only earned a save when they faced the tying run at the plate!

Wasn't that so funny?
They were losing 8-1 and they were yelling out 'who's your daddy?' That did not make sense to me at all.

Duh~~~. Ok!

they weren't yelling it at boston per se.

they where yelling it a pedro in particular...

pedro himself said that the yanks are his daddies.

man i have alot of phone calls to make today

as far as the comment of A rod not admitting his heritage,
this is the deal with that, his mother is from the dominican rep.
so is his father, he was born here but moved to the dominican rep as a young boy, came back and grew up in florida.

so he is of dominican descent, correct? when asked where hes from he answered. I am american, and the person doing the interview knew full well where he was descendent from and was trying for him to say he was dominican, he answered once again. i am american and lets leave it at that...

not a big deal to some, but it just shows a tremendous arrogance and a denile of who you are.

After A-Rod's display of attempted cheating I'm glad he never became a Red Sox.

Thanks for clarifying. I kinda thought that's what was going on but I hadn't heard of this before.

Not only is he a cheat, but a loser too! Sometimes it carries onto the team. Is it a coincidence that Texas started winning after he left and Seattle had the best winning record ever after he left them too? Hopefully, his arrogance will bring down the Yankee empire!

Now for Boston to win it all because I hate hearing the stupid "Bambino Curse" excuse! How ridiculus!

I noticed people voted for Boston after they had already won the series. I voted for Boston after Boston had won game 5 and heading back to NY. You can already feel the momentum shifting and since the Yankee "sellout" players A-Rod and Sheffield have always been chokes as well as Giambi but he didn't factor in this series, you could already see the meltdown!

"Red Sox fans now have a stock answer for those clever chants of ''1918." They'll always be able to cite the fall of 2004 when the Big Apple was finally and firmly lodged in the throats of men wearing pinstripes. This time it was the gluttonous Yankees who choked."

Dan Shaughnessy, Boston Globe.

"To recap: Greatest comeback in sports history. First trip to the World Series in 18 years. First meaningful victory over the Yankees. All at the same time.

You have to be from here to understand. You just do. It wasn't just that the Yankees always win. It was everything else that came with it -- the petty barbs, the condescending remarks, the general sense of superiority from a fan base that derives a disproportionate amount of self-esteem from the success of their baseball team. I didn't care that they kept winning as much as they were a-holes about it. Not all of them. Most of them. In 96 hours, everything was erased. Everything. It was like pressing the re-start button on a video game.

And yeah, I know. We need to win the World Series to complete the dream. But you can win the World Series every year. You only have one chance to destroy the Yanks. As my friend Mike (a Tigers fan) wrote me last night, "Everyone outside of Yankee brats are celebrating quietly with you guys. It's like you killed Michael Myers, Jason, Freddie Kreueger and Hannibal Lecter in one night."

It was the choke of chokes, an unprecedented gag job. For once, finally, the Yankees have some baggage. Just like every other baseball team. "

Next year will be interesting between these two teams as they both may be w/o good pitching. No need to explain Yankee pitching woes but Boston has Pedro who isn't Pedro anymore and Lowe is eligible for free agency and an aging Schilling. Time to get out the checkbooks for both teams!

Both LCS series's were great baseball!! Looking forward to the WS!!

Was this the first time that both LCS's had teams from the same divisions (Both AL teams from the East and both NL teams from the Central)?

Also wondering what Nomar has to be thinking these days about his trade to the Cubbies?

Who cares what Nomar is thinking. If he wasn't traded through that 3 way deal the Sox would not be where they are right now. They made out big time picking up Cabrera, Roberts, and Mentkewicz. Imagine how Cabrera feels right now he came from a terrible ball club, not knowing what was going to happen to him or his team, to playing in a WS with so much meaning behind it.

Similar situation with Corey Dillon of the Pats....8 seasons with the Bengals, to the best team in the NFL....
