Just four inches and he looks good to you does he?? I hope this tank is a huge one for he will grow some 6x the size he is now, and you would need a tank 250 gal and even larger would do better for him

sweetlips are one of those beautiful species that shouldn't be harvested, to many make impulse purchases with these fish, they are simply huge animals doomed in your average home aquarium.

mike-avelli, You might laugh now, just try keeping him in your small tank. since you not say what size it is i will have to figure that it is not as large a tank as it will need and in five years time, even before that time is up, you will see for yourself and the laugh will be on you. And don`t you even think about feeding him less

And just what do you plan on doing with it in 5 years time?

BTW it will be over a foot in size in less than a year.

Sweetlips are gorgeous! They are cute but as it has been said above, they get huge. Not only that but they also lost their colors when adults.
And Mike, if fish wouldnt grow to their adult sizes less then 5 years, they could easily be meal to other fish

Nice fish with great personality. If he gets too big for your tank you can probably trade it in like your Lionfish. Seems like you have a good relationship with your LFS. Good luck!

This fish is another that can be added to my thread "Leave the fish in the ocean!"

I like these fish, but its not good for the average home aquaruim. I mean, I like whale sharks too....
