I thought bio-balls were bad?

I have been looking at new tnaks, I'm looking into the tenecor systams, the RR acrylic 240 gallon. The thing is, they all come with bio-balls as the filtration device. I thought bio-balls were horrible. If I were to order one of these systems, it comes with bio-balls and a berlin system. I'm not familiar with Berlin, are they as good as remora?

You don't need to get the bioball system with the Tenecor tank. It's an option. I know people who have ordered reef ready tanks from them and went ahead and did their own thing with the sump.

The problem is, I don't know what to do with the system. I have never had a sump, and I have only used a skimmer and an Emperor filter. I need a lot of help. Also, is there sump big enough to have a refug in it?

looking at your currnt set up, it looks like you know what
going on...you will just need more sand, more rock, more
light, and a bigger skimmer, the sump will just add more
room for all the "junk" our tanks need, big pumps,
a reactor, fuge, extra sand bad, etc.

i would use a "beckett" style skimmer, the berlin
triple pass skimmer is not the best working out there..
i have buddy that just scraped his for the lack of skimmate..
i dont know much about the remora, is that a HOB type?

You know, you could always just get the tank and the stand, and then go for something that lifereef.com makes. Jeff makes GREAT stuff. All in one package gets you a really nice sump, a great skimmer, and all your pumps and stuff. check out his berlin LF systems. Very nice.
