Suggest the Best PC light

I have the factory lighting in my Corallife aqua light it’s 36" 2x96w, one 10k and one actinic. The color really SUCKS, when the white comes on the blue disappers! I haven’t had time to check the pin configuration but I believe it is a square pin. I was informed that the JBJ actinic 03 is one of the best PC lights on the market. Unfortunately they don’t offer a square pin model. Im looking for suggestions on which other brand will be comparable to JBJ. I don’t want to buy some crappy lights like I have right now. Suggestions and even photos would be appreciated.

I do have another option. I could switch out the connectors in my light hood with straight pins. I don't actually know if they would work or if the ballast has something do with it. Comments would be welcomed with this solution as well.

try hellolights.com. I bought 10000K and Actinic03 PC lights from them and have been very happy with them. The Actinic is way better than the old actinic bulbs that I had (better color and corals flouresce more). Somewhere I used to have some pictures showing the difference between my old and new bulbs. i'll see if I can find them.

I have the same light it is a square pin. I am thinking of changing the bulbs to hellolights they seem to be the cheepest. I am glad I got the light used though, I paid $125.00 for it if I had paid the $350 they want in stores I woulda hurt someone.I Know its cheeper online. It looks better than what I had 110W PC. I am thinking of getting a canopy and running both in the future together but for now my corals look happy I just have softies easy ones. Someday halide but for now this is what I have. Let me know the difference if you do buy the bulbs I am curious.

How old are your bulbs?

I use a 48" coralife fixture & I like the color, but if you go longer than 1 year on the bulbs they definitely look yellow. They're downright pretty after you replace them.

My bulbs are only 4 months old but I just cant stand the color is so poor. I might get some new ones and just keep these for back ups.

PCs fade fast, even if you can find a color you like it doesn't stay that way very long. That is why I upgraded to T5s. They retain their color spectrum much longer. Some people don't like the T5 actinic as well as VHO, but I prefer it. I don't like the 'pink' VHO look, but that is just personal taste.
