My Fav. that I own

This is my fav. sps that I own I bought it about 3 years ago as a small frag. Now it is attached to about 4 lbs of live rock and I have about 30 odd frags some of which are now getting big themselves. (Plug I am selling some on this board to get some other species that I have seen in this thread, talk about drooling!)

Great photo Pathos! Mother colony is brick red with white polyps under 400watt Ushio. Now yours is turning purple. Someone else is reporting hers turning fluorescent green with bright pink tips under 250 watt Iwasaki and 03 blue VHO.....We have two daughters under Radiums that seem to be getting purple with blue tips.....(I prefer the red myself but everyone already knows I'm not all there.....) What a beauty!

Most of these were from Steve Tyree place. I had a run of RTN and lost most. Going to start again.

Here is my somewhat unusual acro:

It has grown quite a bit since I moved it over to the new tank. I really like the hairy polyps and now the growning tips are yellow and the polyps have a slightly different color on the ends.

FWIW, Nathan

BTW, Those blue torts are AWESOME!!!

my turn, my turn!

I love this guy, I picked him up from a local reefer who tore down his tank. Generic description is a nice tri-color acro (purple, blue, and irredecent green), slow grower, no slime, needs intense light and yes, it really is this colorful

Greenbud,

That is really beautiful. Do you have any frags you would consider for trade/sale?

These SPS are amazing...so many varieties

ckeadle - the acro pic you posted looks like A secale, looking at the exaggerated coralites. You may want to look around at other pix of this species, and see if it matches. It's kinda hard to tell from the distance that the pic was taken from. HTH.

My favorite sps so far started from a 2" frag with one small branch.

A. Loripes

pathos & cubera I also have this coral, but I don't think that it is A. Loripes. If you look at the coral in the Eric Boreman book it looks like A. Nasuta. I don't know for sure but I do know under my 400 (10k x 2) it is purple with an sky blue sheen to it. The polyps are white, the tips are reddish/pink and the coralite formation is exactly the same as the pic posted earlier. I know that corals are difficult to id so I won't say the it is or isn't Loripes. I know one thing for sure, it is beautiful and it is also one of my favorites

Glad you did. I still don't have a positive ID on this one but it has certainly become a favorite.

LOL I could not resist adding a few pics as email notification told me a recent post on it.
I had no pics back then.

These are some Acropora's I like in my prop systems but there are many more to many to post pics of all.

Regards
Martyn

I didn't realize that in this thread I posted a pic of the AC blue selago from a long time ago. To all of those who have e-mailed me and PM'd me, I'm sorry this coral went by the waste side a few years ago caused by a fresh water dump

It was the prize of my collection. I never saw another coral that looked like it, grew like it and had color like it. Yes, it was true that pic was what the coral looked liked in real life. Much better than that Blue Tort that's been passed around! I've been looking for this coral for a long time as well and if I do come across it again, I'll let everyone know! If of course, you promise to do the same!?

This Orange peachy/pink Montipora dig is becoming popular.

As is this orange Monti.

This is an interesting Monti I am just starting to prop.

I live in the UK and frags are more recent in mass production to the longer time period frags in mass have been around in the US.

T.Reniformis frags also is IMO a great frag to get.

A couple of tiny acro branch swaps growing on.
I am growing these out into mother colonys should be interesting when they are large colonys.

Here's an orange Acro - not a color you see very often on an acro...
