Is this ok???
My nitrates are still out of whack since doing a huge water change. I did have a coral beauty who probably died but cant find the corpse. Can I pull my live rock out of the water without killing the bacteria to see if I can find the coral beauty??? I was going to pull it out and as soon as I do put in a 5gallon bucket with fresh saltwater.

just move the rock around if all your looking for is a fish

as long as it stays in the bucket then you should be fine, just try not to let the rock be out of the system for very long. I had to move my tank across town, had the rock in buckets, and they did perfectly fine

yeah i do have about 8 nass snails and about 6 hermits and some turbo snails but like i said i have a lot of rock in the tank and cant see too well in the back due to the rock. Will my bacteria die if I do this?
