OT Levco Energy...what a joke!

Got a letter today from Dominion (Levco Energy). States new rates for electricity generation service charge. Went from .1097 cents per kWH to .1166, effective Jan 1, 08.

Oh but wait they are still less than CL&P.
CL&P = .1178 cents per kWH
Levco= .1166 I'm saving a whole tenth of a penny. Whoopie!!!!

What a joke.

Yes. I just need to charge admission to pay for the elec to run my TV and surround sound system. Beer will not be $8 ea either like at Gillette stadium. I'll only charge $5 ea.

Jeff...I must be missing something here. I used their "Calculate Your Savings!" on the website you linked and my savings (at 38 kwh) is 56 cents and at 45 kwh it is a whopping 67 cents. Works out to saving $8 a year.

38 kwh a month? How do you use so little? My average is close to 2800 kwh a month....

I think you use 38 KWH per day X 365 days is a savings of $204.

Ahhhh...that could be...I might have been thinking of avg. daily usage instead of monthly. I guess I should have looked at the bill instead of trying to remember from memory (which I have a very bad memory).

So it would be a savings of about 60 cents per day (not month) or $200-220 a year. I guess that is not bad, almost like buy 11 month of electricity, get one month free.

Jeff, did you have to contact your utility company to let them know? I signed up online right before the holidays and somewhere in there they said I'd have to notify my supplier. Also, the only response I got was an email with my filled out form and nothing else. I might be giving them a call today.

Based on the signup page - 2 Term: - "The electric supply under this agreement will start after PP&U provides confirmation to the customer's current distributor and they initiate the change.", I don't think we have to do a thing. I remember with Levco, it too a billing cycle to become effective.

If you call, let us know what you find out.
