? on new sump build

I want to make sure I have my thoughts right. The water coming from my tank back into the sump should enter in the

fuge/skimmer/return ?
or
skimmer/partial thru fuge/return

suggestions ?

You can do it multiple ways. Some believe that water should not be skimmed before going into the fuge. So that fuge water gets the nutrients. Of course I argue (and several others) that not all water is skimmed, but instead much passes thru unskimmed.

The best in my opinion is to "T" off your drain so that 70% goes to your skimmer and 30% goes to you fuge. The % don't have to be exact but you get the point. You control this with a ball valve.
