It all depends on what corals you have. some feed at night and others during the day. i feed my tank during the day and then at night i feed my candy cane.

Doesn't matter for most corals a few may be picky... but I haven't witnessed this. Some corals such as Sun Corals should be fed in the day IMO, because this way they learn to open in the day, when you actually can see them.

I've tried this, but the fish always steal the food away so I feed them at night when the fish aren't active.

ReeferAl, for me it was hermit crabs, but they were happy to steal food day or night I used the soda bottle trick with success, but this was a PITA... I ended up giving them away.

Broadcast feeding is best done at night for two reasons:
-Less competition from fish for the food.
-Most corals tend to be more active in feeding at night.
