Building Kalk Reactor. How did you attach your MJ400?
Hi there I am in the process of building a Kalk Reactor. I've got everything done, drilling the holes and put the Uniseals in and have 1/2 pvc mounted in it.
The easy part is I know 3/8" ID poly tubing will work fine on the nozzle part of the MJ powerhead and a barb fitting coming out of the PVC will work like a charm. Now the intake side, what ID tubing do I need? I guess I should just take my powerhead to Loews tomorrow. Any good closeup pics of how you mounted yours to your Kalk reactor? I'd appreciate it! Or good closeup pics of a Geo reactor would be great. Thanks, Chris

on the intake side take a1/2 inch piece of pvc and heat it with a heat gun and slide it over the intake and glue it. on the ouyput side take a 1/2 cap and drill a hole in it the size of the output and then glue it. I have it done this way on both of my reactors and it works great. I will try to post pics Chris if you have any questions can call me

I used 1/2" pvc coupler, the ones that are slip one end and threaded the other. Then get one of the threaded hose fitting that works for the poly tubing you are using. Lowes should have the fittings. whatever you do, make sure you can remove the MJ propeller. The Kalk is pretty corrosive and will wear down the metal rod in the propeller.

Geo uses 1/2 PVC and directly glues it to the intake portion of the maxijet. The out put portion is pushed into a smaller piece and then glued inside another coupler made of pvc. It allows removal of the impeller cover but the cap will be permanently attached. Pics will help here
