Lucky break

I went to my LFS today to 'have a look' (secret code for 'beans on toast all week - again') bought a couple of corals as usual and some more food as you do, when I looked over and saw a digital thermometer. Mines a little glass thingy that I never look at (I know, I know!) anyway, decided to treat myself (like the £60 I spent already wasn't enough) and bought one.

Came home, put it on and set the alarms to tell me when the temp was too high or too low etc...

2 hours later its bleeping away...

Tank temp 83 degrees!

turns out one of my heaters is faulty (I run two so if one goes there's back up) and the temp is rising at some speed!

Talk about a purchase in the nick of time!

I've unplugged the heater and the temp is dropping again slowly but surely.

How lucky am I!

Good timing indeed! You would have had a nice fish boil going!

What model digital thermometer did you get?

Nice when things like that work out for you, and look at all the money you saved not replacing everything in your tank.
