Tankstand and weight
I have a new 180 acrylic aquarium. It has a oak hood and stand with it, the stand is oak plywood and melamine I think. I just want everyones option on this, do you think that it will hold the weight of the aquarium or do you think I should add wood posts around the inside of the stand (on each corner and in middle). I have included a photo of the aquarium and it's stand and hood. Thank you.

You could add extra posts, but I thought that stands that store bought were designed were meant to put up with the weight.

As long as the wood has never gotten wet for a period of time then it should be fine as long as it is in good condition.

The stand will hold fine. It was built for the purpose of holding a tank. If anything paint the inside with a water resistant paint, but thats all I would do.
