A New Year's Journey

Mixed blessings,
The comraderie gained from discussions on this forum is important to me. I enjoy sharing and hearing about success and lending a sympathetic ear when bad things happen.

For me this week has been both. First, my wife returned from Boston after 3weeks of nursing my daughter Kim back to health after major surgery for a life threatening condition. Kim is apparently well on the road to recovery and we are extremely happy.

A few days ago my 7 and!/2 yr old border collie Banx (named for the Outerbanks of NC) became ill. He is in the hospital tonight and the prognosis is grave due to a sudden kidney disease/failuire.I will likely loose him tommorow. He is a wonderful dog and a great companion. I am gratefull for the time we have had and still hoping for the best.

Please accept my best wishes to all of you and those close to you for a happy and healthy new year.

An apt and favorite quote of mine is"Life is a journey not a destination, you need to smell the roses along the way."This hobby is definately one of the more scenic roads.

Tom,
Great news about your daughter... I hope the road to recovery is filled with the perfume of roses.

It is sad news about your furry companion.. I shall say prayers for buddy..

I often say life is about the ride, so I'd say we're on the same page Tom. I'm happy to hear about your daughter. Best of luck with your pooch.
