Did anyone recieve any great christmas presents for the tank?

He hasn't been happy for some time, but looks very good right now.

I got a Rip-Stick... Yeah I know, 38 years old and asked Santa for a Rip-Stick.. If you haven't tried on of these things it's like Snowboarding, but hurts a little more than the snow when you fall and hit the road :

Starfire, Im jealous, but about the rip-stick, I bought a carve board about 2 months ago, essentially the same thing, and love it. I understand the pavement, I hit a parked car the first day!

rip-stick? carve board? what are these things........i snowboard but have no clue what ya'll are talking about.

I don't know about his, but essentially mine is a large long board, with large trucks and wheels. Mine has large springs that flex, and that allow you to carve downhill left and right just like a snowboard. You can actually even carve uphill, but thats hard and I can't yet. As well as you can do 180's and turn in small circles realle easily, unlike a common skateboard! It allows me to snowboard a little in the city. I am a snowboarding fanatic, thats my other love, so josh let me know, we have to get together and ride. I use to live with two pro-snowboarders, who live out west now, so they told me to tryout a carve stick a little bit ago.

oh cool, i think i've seen those at snowshoe during the winter, they have very large/nobby off road wheels, right? must hurt when you wipe out though....lol

Man, that thing looks like trouble. I still ride my skateboard to the busstop to pick my daugther up after kindergarten but I need 4 wheels on my board.

The past few weeks I have been toying with a 7 ft DIY skimmer (her name is elanor, lol, not pretty but...). Its recirculating, got the idea from my octopus and rc threads. I have a mag24 and man that sucker sucks air bigtime but the impeller starts to rattle bigtime if it has too much air intake. I figured since this thing was a monster, I mind as well do it right so wifey bought me a Dart Needlewheel for xmas, will use it as the recirculating pump. Talk about w00t!!!

My mother bought me a yellow Tang and 3 blue green chromis. My dad bought me 9 fish! Including A Rectangle Trigger and large Naso Tang! Then gave me $100 gift card to F. World where my husband pitched in and bought me a set of T5 then built me a hood to put them in! I am so spoiled!

Nothing directly fish or equipment related. Our new kitten, Butterscotch, got neutered for Christmas!

My fish have a great view of the tv, so they'll be enjoying the 2nd greatest Rock & Roll movie of all time, Talking Head's Stop Making Sense, and the 3rd greatest Rock & Roll movie of all time, Led Zeppelin's The Song Remains the Same.

Jim, I expect to see this Rip Stick at the next meeting. I'm having a hard time picturing you rockin' that thing.

Yep.. No broken bones yet

I did have a close call coming down Maple Avenue from Grove. Ended up have to ditch the board right in front of the Firestation.. Got a little too much speed coming down the hill, it was pretty freaking scary. My whoile family watched as I did a Pete Rose slide about 20 feet in the grass.

"The Finest of All Rock Movies" is Martin Scorsese's "The Last Waltz, the Band's historic 1976 farewell performance that featured an unparalleled lineup of rock superstars.

The Wall is really good too, that might deserve the number three spot before Zeppelin. Spinal Tap is a funny @ss, movie! I'm not sure if I've seen the Dead movie, I probably have and just can't remember it

. . . though I did see them in concert on their last tour.

The Blue Planet series is the greatest documentary ever made. The Planet Earth series was a really good follow-up, but its not really in the same league as Blue Planet.

I got "Wondrous Secrets of the Ocean Realm" for Chistmas (it's a 6 disc set Sam's was carrying; 12 episodes each ~30min). I haven't had a chance to see it all yet, but it does include a good Mantis shrimp segment.

Really? Who all was playing? Couldn't have included Richard Manuel since he died in '86, and I didn't think Robbie Robertson had played with them since the Last Waltz. Rick Danko died in '99
