Thanks for the compliments on the rocks, I have been luck with the pieces that I found. I have always been a little disappointed in the looks of live rock at some LFS and then for it to be $6+ per pound.

I guess I would recommend to others in the process of setting up a tank is to keep an eye on the forums and perhaps Craigslist and pickup some choice pieces as you can. I actually had my rock split between three small tanks through out the house. But be careful, you know what they say "Your eyes may be bigger than your stomach". I think I may have ended up with a little to much rock?

30 gallon holding tank.

55 gallon holding tank.

40 gallon holding tank that started it all

Here is a little something I'm trying to have the light pivot up from the back.

I used the existing mounting holes to attach the angle iron

I not a welder so I have to use what I can,,,WOOD.

I used a piece of 2x4 to try raising it up, seem to work ok.

Have the 2x4's installed that will be used to mount the outer skin and doors.

Along the top you get a glance at some tile work that I did, will post more on the tile work later.

I'm pretty sure it will be pivoted upward for maintenance. Not all the time.

I have an octopus dnw200 as well on my 120 and am pretty happy with the performance. I modded the air tube intake a bit though to increase it by say 20%. I also am using a mix of the octopus 100 pump and downdraft to feed the skimmer. Nice looking setup thus far. Are you liking the lighting?

Can you provide some more info on how you made the mods.

Very happy overall with the lighting, have started getting coralline on the bottom. I do miss the shimmering that you get from a MH though. The T5's sure don't through off the heat that MH's do so there is a little give in take.

To backup for a moment here is the tile work.

Took a while but found some molding that we were happy with

Some framing to hold the doors.

One door down four to go.

Two down three to go.

Here is the first design that I came up with that would be used to pivot the lamp up and out of the way when I need to work on the tank.

The blue pieces attach to what I'll call the stiffeners which then mount to the legs of the frame, the green piece also attaches to the red stiffener and then to the base

Looks great, can't wait to see the stand done. Are you going to make a canope to match the stand?

I really like the ceramic around the tank. Makes it look like a mini wet bar, great for drink placement while hanging out around the tank.
