External overflow glass tank

I have 70 gal that is 36 " long. For the weir, I would like to have about a 12" X 1 " inch area removed from the back wall. I have seen post where the top of back wall has been grinded down or cut. How much would this cost to have it professionally done? I live in a small town and the local glass guy is on vacation for the next 2 weeks. If it is very expensive I plan to just frill the tank myself. I want to set up the tank and not sure if it is worth waiting for the glazier to get back and fi9nd out that it will cost too much. Anyone have this done and can suggest a price range?

I would not recomend you do that. Because the structal stability will be comprimised and stressed. Your better off getting a crappy hang on the back overflow. Or IMO wait till the glass guy gets back and tells you what to do. Dont rush it! Thats the biggest mistake you can make.

Its a good idea to have a refrence sample for alk test kits. 1.1350 grams of baking soda in 1gallon of distilled water=10dkh. Check your alkalinity test kit!
