New slimer bleaching, is there anything I can do???

I just recieved a green slimer frag in the mail yesterday (took 2 days to get to me). Everything appeared fine. The color was pretty dull (looked tan when I first put in tank). Today I noticed it is starting to bleach at the base and quickly moving up. Is there anyting I can do? The polyps are still extended some. My tank spec's are in my sig. My water params as of yesterday are:
Cal- 490-495
Alk- 7.7 (added some of the alk part of Kent's Tech CB yesterday to help bring this up)
Mg- 1500

I didn't test my amm/trates/trites/phos yesterday, but I did test them 12/16 and everything was 0 (like it has been since my initial cycle almost a year ago).

The frag is about mid way in my water column.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, but I'm pretty sure this guys a gonner.

if the necrosis is spreading upward,i would cut it above the recession and glue it to a plug or rock and place it on the bottom of the tank or mid way up like you had it.give it plenty of random flow and keep it at least 4 inches away from all other corals.they are prertty tough,as far as sps go so it may recover.

Sounds more like RTN than bleaching. If it's loosing tissue it is RTN (rapid tissue necrosis) and it probably is a goner. You can try to frag it well up from the line of tissue loss and you might get lucky if it is in fact RTN. If it's actually bleaching TLC (stable conditions) and a reduction in lighting are in order.
good luck, Chris

Ya'll are great. Thanks for the super quick responses. I am getting ready to frag it and move it to a lower light area. Thanks again.

Ok, that went easier then I thought. I also got first hand knowledge of why they call them slimers. After I cut the frag, and was glueing it to a new plug, I went to release my grip and slimer stuck to my hand. I had to wait for the super glue gel to dry and adhere it to the frag plug before I could get it off my fingers.
