Floodlight or simple bulb?
I bought this floodlight that is 2700K (16W). It is a sprial bulb within a container of some sort. Anyways I heard that melev used this and it caused the chaeto to explode in growth within a couple of weeks. My question is that is it okay to return this and get the normal 2700K sprial bulbs or does this "floodlight" have any advantage over the simple spiral bulbs?

The reflector is probably very useful in improving efficiency. Another bulb might work well enough for your system, though.

Flood bulb is a waste of energy. A bulb like this rated same as sun. Low whats and grow cheato great. I leave mine on 24/7.
And on a side note. You list a koralia 1 as only powerhead. Im sure its a little low. http://www.bulbamerica.com/Compact-F...ategory_id=495

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "floodlight", but if is has a reflector its likely much more efficient than the normal cf spiral bulb.
