My Nano I Built!!!!
Here is the third tank I have built!
Everytime I build one I get a little better. The tank is 1/2" Acrylic and measures 12x12x8

Where do you get your acrylic from and what does a sheet cost?
Maybe I'll try and build a sump.

We have an account through my work with N Glantz & Wholesale Banners. I think a .25" 4x10 CellCast sheet runs $86 I don't know how much the 1/2" Is I had a bunch of scrap laying around the shop.

I'd love to learn to work with acrylic. I'm told it's easy, but the concept of it scares the crap out of me.
I'd love to build myself a really nice, custom sump instead of the 18G tank I've converted over to one. |

psimitry - I was thinking the exact same thing. I just thought of doing a sump out of a small acrylic tank. I know it would be more costly than a simple 10g or 20g glass tank, but it would look so much better. Not that the sump has to be all that pretty... *Sigh* How I want the nicer things in life.
BTW - truthdesigns - That tank looks really nice. Are you going to drill it at all? |

WOW it looks awesome!! I have done acrylic tanks too always came out nice never leaked but I had problems with the bubbles in the joints. Not really niticable but still. Truth it looks like you did a perfect job! Really excited to see this stocked! Can I suggest a Ric garden lol? I think that would look amazing, and if you need Ricordeas let me know!

I am cutting the acrylic with a 10" table saw then routing
an 1/8" off the sides with a trim bit. The cleaner and smoother the sides are the better the glue looks. "less Bubbles" And I have found out that the key of good joints without bubbles is knowing how long to let the glue sit before you pull the pins if you are gluing with the pin method.
