Regulator set

Where is the best place to get a regulator set? THe one I have does not seem to work dependably.

Can I get a Co2 Regulator setup at Harbor freight? Or does someone have one to sell for a reasonable price?

I know it's Harbor Freight, but for what they are used for and with a solenoid and controller, what would the issues be?

The main issue is precision. Harbor Freight ones will not have the precision required to send a steady flow of bubbles...they are made for off and on use, not for the needs of precise metering of the gas. Choke it up and buy a good one. Harbor Freight is not the place to buy quality products because they don't sell them, they sell seconds, refurbs and import stuff no one else wants. Do you really want a tank of highly compressed gas being controlled by a valve that could let go and launch that tank across the room?

It probably wouldn't let go but I highly doubt it will do the job the way you expect it to.

I suppose I might deserve the cheapskate lable Dave, but I gotta try and save where I can. The wife gives me a hard enough time about spending the cash on reefing, and my budget lately has been about zero.

I will get some better gauges though...

Howie

I understand conserving and so does everyone else. Some things you can conserve on, some you shouldn't. I just set up the 58 with Marco Rocks...50 bucks for 20 lbs of the most beautiful rock. I conserved.

I ended up getting the JBJ CO2 regulator. I found one on EBay, brand new, and won the auction. So I did save some money.....

I considered it too but I felt sorry for Howie. I have to help him, he bought one of my clams and I want it to live.

I did a bit of homework, still up in the air about the stuff Harbor Freight sells, but I did read some reviews on the Milwaukee guage set, which seemed relatively cheap. The reviews that I read were not real good, so I got lucky and found a JBJ set.

Nice reviews there on the JBJ.

Next Christmas, gift certificates for you all to Harbor Freight. Nook would shop there all the time if they sold pizza and beer...
