what can cause this color of algea ?

need a lilttle more info or picture. is it covering rocks, glass, plastic, sand? it is easy to remove by hand or does it have to be scraped. is it hairy or smooth? etc

thin layer on rocks and crabs very little on glass

do a google search on red slime and see if thats what it is.

What about its texture? Is is easily removed or pretty tough. A picture would really be helpful.
