What is Discovery HD? Is this a paid subscription?

Yes you need an HD tuner with HD service. Nothin like coral in 1080p. (Not sure what they actually broadcast in). You usually get an HD tier package with all the HD channels available.

I watched a lot of this; what a fantastic piece of work! Even my other family members watched it without yawning - which, as you all probably realize, is a pretty good thing for reef-widows.

For XMas I asked for Planet Earth.

I had really meant it with regards to world domination, however I got the DVD box set instead.

I'd also heard great things about the Planet Earth series (supposedly it's the best piece of documentation of this kind to date), so hopefully it'll be a good watch.
