sump for 46 gallon bowfront tank
Currently am running a 46 gallon sumpless bowfront Fowlr tank. I have HOB skimmer, filter, and power head but would very much like to switch over to a hang on overflow and sump/refugium. Main problem is I dont have much room to work with being that My tank is on a bowfront stand.
At the very max, and this is leaving no room to work with, i have 34" x 9" x 16" room underneath the stand. That being said, whatever size sump which could fit there would be only around 15 gallons or so. Would that size sump/refugium even be worth the effort/money for the tank that I'm running? And if any of you are using a similar set-up tank, any info you have would be appreciated. |

I have a 46 gallon bow front. I keep my 20 gallon, long, sump downstairs in the basement but it may just fit under the stand. Here's a pic:

Very nice setup, a little too complex/expensive/large for what Im working with... @0 gallon long would be perfect except the space under the stand is only 9" wide

Have you tried to fit a 10 gallon under your stand yet. I have a 46 gal bowfront stand to not set up and plan on doing a sump or just a fuge

you only need a skimmer in there, nothing else, avoid a dsb, add a powerhead to the main tank. i lost all my pics of it, and now its a FW planted tank (my gf wanted FW and i have 2 other SW tanks)
