I thought I would separate this from the last post so not to bore you lol

the "housing for the light" is a nifty little deal I came up with to tie it in with the tank, because its a hang down light fixture.....Its made of wood, has 2 shelfs in it and mounts to the ceiling brackets....sorry cameras dead so no pics till tomorrow cheers!

Awesome dimensions!

You have a SQWD on that return?

What're you going to keep in there?

I don't see a SQWD, but it's an easy option for you, if you do want to incorporate it into your setup.

Couple of questions...

Is that ballast ok tucked in the corner there? Are you blocking any vents on it? I would rather have "some" space on all four sides to get it some airflow around it. Make sure your not blocking any ventilation on it. Things maybe overheating scares me.
Great light bracket though.

Are you going to add some trim to the corners to hide the returns and that section you cannot clean behind them? Looks nasty, they could even be removable if needed.

levon- The ballast is 4" away from the corner where the fan is and is not inclosed completely, it also has 1" on each side for flow

as for the corners, I havent thought of trim, good Idea, I was ganna get a scraper from a lfs and try that, and the cornerflows, overflow are not removable, they are glued like no other and I dont wanna mess it up, I already have to find a new hose that is 4" cause it sprong a leak, tightend the bracket to tight and it tore it....anyone know where I can get one?

robbie!- thanks on both accounts...I hope I am a good artist, lol my college career depends on it

Shoe, would it be possible to replace the four returns with lockline? For the hose, check Home Destucto or bLows.

lol I have tried Home Destructo, bLows, Ace, local hardware store, petsmart, petco, walmart.....lol I will figure something out...

as far as the lockline...I donno what that is really lol is that those tubes that connect together with a smashed end on it lol in lamins terms...I am the dimist bulb in the batch mind explaining...but I dont think they are coming out w/o a battle...they are glued in rather tightly

Check this: Modularhose.com / Loc-Line

You would not have to remove your return lines, just cut them short and use an adapter.

Oh, ok. Are you talking about the black hose in post1-picture3? If so, I still think the "big box" stores will carry the hose you need. If you were going to replace the full length of flexible hose you could get a different type/color/shape hose. As long as the inside diameter is the same.
