anyone try vibrant reef salt
Saw this new salt. Supposedly it tests good. High in Mg. Anyone try it. The price is great. Around $12 for a 50 gallon bag.

that guy is expensive. I can get it for $12/ 50 gallon bag. Less if I but 3+cases. Walk in, not shipped.

I guess Sea Dwelling Creatures, a wholesaler in LA of 104th is using it in their husbandry dept. and has good things to say about it. They are pushing it hard. Good Ca, alk, and Mg. I can't believe nobody has seen this.

I am lazy/busy and did not measure it before using it. According to who I talked to ca was about 440 and alk was 12 I believe. I might be a tad off here but should be close. I am mixing a batch right now and will test tomorrow. I have done a couple of water changes with it and had no ill effects. Brewen, you are local. I can drop a bag or two off for you in SM and you can try it and let me know what you think.

Saw Vibrant Reef in at least 2 LFS in CA.. one of which was on sale for like $9.99 per bag
 Tell you honestly I was tempted to buy it but didn't want to take a risk. If were to try it, I suggest mixing maybe 1/4 VR to 3/4 of whatever your current salt is.. then gradually change to 100% VR.

I can't see why anyone would pick a brand new salt mix based on the calcium, alkalinity and magnesium readings, regardless of what they might be. It is easy to boost any salt mix to any levels that you want with inexpensive ingredients, and then you at least know the you have a tried and true mix behind you.
Better ways to pick salt mixes are to see what a large number of people have accomplished with the salt over an extended period, or possibly looking at much more extensive chemical analyses. I'm not a fan of vitamins in salt mixes, especially when they do not say what they are or how much.
