sps and k changing
would changing from 400watt 10000k to 400watt 14000 k cause one of my acros to start bleaching and polys not extending as much anymore. nitrates-0
calcium-420 phosphates-0 ph- 8.3 saltinity- 1.024 temp- 79 alk- 8 the only thing thats changed has been the light and this had been the acro that was doing the best in my tank. ive had my tank set up for almost a year now. all my softies are growing like crazy and my other sps corals (green stag, cats paw, pink acro) are doing well. i dont have a camera that can focus that well so i cant take a pic. the white parts on the coral are small |

as bulbs age, they lose intensity... then you put a new bulb in and all of a sudden the intensity goes way up
you should always acclimate your corals to new/replacement lighting that being said... most 10k bulbs are more intense than 14k bulbs... so the 10k bulb would have to be really old for the 14k to light shock the corals.... unless it was some super intense 14k bulb at this point... feed a little more... reduce lighting schedule by 1/2... and put screen over your tank for a few days. then take the screen off and then up your lighting schedule by an hour every few days. things should be just fine (unless your issues have nothing to do with lighting)
