Sump/Fuge Question For My New System

alright...as the title says i got a few questions just to see what people are doing and whats working for you.

what i would like to do is have like a 30/40 gallon as the sump then have a seperate tank as a fuge maybe a 20 maybe larger, now which is more beneficial? having them all together or 2 seperate tanks?

its going to be a 75 gallon jumping up to that from a 20 so lol im actually getting a little giddy over the whole situation and i will do a tank build thread, just dont know what to do with the whole sump situation cause the 20's not drilled and sump will be a new world for me...

hopefully someone will reply
thanks in advance!

I have a 40 breeder fuge/sump for my 90 and have great success.

Here is my sump/fuge. I have it bare bottom, it makes it easier to clean out and increase water flow for the chaeto if I have to without worrying about a sand bed.
